In today’s news, Israel and United Arab Emirates take step towards peaceful relations, research finds cigarette ban policy bears fruit in United States, growing number of shoppers forego single-use plastic bags in United Kingdom, homeless persons benefit from community support system in Australia, honest boys in United States turn in wallet with substantial cash, veg food company in Nigeria poised for expansion, and thousands of animals rescued by kind-hearted man in India.

Historic peace agreement reached between Israel and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Prime Minister of Israel His Excellency Benjamin Netanyahu and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a Shining World Leadership Award for Protection laureate, recently agreed to normalize relations between Israel and the UAE. Supported by United States President His Excellency Donald Trump, a Shining World Peace Leader Award and a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate, this diplomatic step forward is seen as advancing peace in the Middle East region. In addition to a collaboration to develop a COVID-19 vaccine, the two countries will form agreements concerning tourism, culture, technology, energy, and other areas of mutual benefit. Our deep appreciation, Your Excellency Benjamin Netanyahu, Your Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Your Excellency Donald J. Trump, for promoting peace in the Middle East. In the Divine’s uplifting grace, may all nations co-exist in well-wishing harmony.

Flavored cigarettes ban reduces the number of young smokers in America.

Dr. Matthew Rossheim and co-researchers at George Mason University’s College of Health and Human Services, in the United States, analyzed the effects of the 2009 national ban on flavored cigarettes products on teens and young adults. Using the 2002-2017 data from the US National Survey on Drug Use and Health, they found that the prohibition decreased smoking in the 12-17 age group by 43%, and by 27% among young adults aged 18-25. The researchers suggested that a more comprehensive ban on all flavored tobacco products would lead to promising results. Many thanks for the study, Dr. Matthew Rossheim and co-researchers. In God’s radiance, may the day soon come when governments throughout the world ban all harmful substances for a flourishing world.

Up next on Noteworthy News, growing number of shoppers forego single-use plastic bags in United Kingdom. We’ll just take a little time to thank the community liaisons, who are an important link between organizations such as schools, police departments and nonprofits, and the public they serve. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more rewarding news.

Hallo nice friends, I’m Olivia the vegan Great Horned Owl. Are you becoming a better person every day? I’ll bet you are, if your lifestyle is vegan! Here is a tip on how to make mask-wearing more comfortable for your ears. You can keep the ear loops of your mask away from your ears, while maintaining a suitable mask position, by simply using a rubber band and paperclip. First, try securing the strings from your mask to the back of your head using a paperclip. This will avoid placement of the bands directly on your ears. Alternatively, if you find that the strings are fastened too tight, you can extend the ear loops by attaching rubber bands to each end, and then using the paperclip to secure it. Stay safe! Love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Thank you for watching. And now, the weather around the world.

Plastic bag sales greatly reduced in United Kingdom after implementation of bag charge.

Sales of single-use plastic bags in England have plummeted since the 2015 introduction of a 5 pence charge per plastic bag in large supermarkets across the country. In the last year alone, major retailers Asda, Marks and Spencer, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, the Co-operative Group, Tesco, and Waitrose collectively sold 322 million fewer bags than in the 2018-2019 period. The average consumer in England now uses up to four plastic bags a year from the main retailers, compared to 140 bags annually in 2014. Furthermore, since the introduction of the charge, £178 million has been donated to charity. The United Kingdom is a Shining World Wise Leadership Award and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Animal Protection and Kindness laureate. Congratulations, United Kingdom! We are so happy to hear of your eco-friendly success. May we all continue to move towards a cleaner and sustainable future, in Heaven’s joyous splendor.

Australian state invests in system to help people experiencing homelessness.

The state of Western Australia announced the New Online Homelessness Services Portal, through which individuals in need will be able to access any community service organization and receive the relevant details of services they may require. This includes information on accommodations and whether or not there is a vacancy. The portal will be online and operate in real-time to ensure accurate information. It was announced at the beginning of August during the 2020 national Homelessness Week, with the motto “Everybody Needs a Home.” Way to go and our gratefulness, Western Australia, for your dedication to helping all members of your society. May your new portal bring much comfort and security to its users, in Divine shelter.

Teenagers return wallet they found with large amount of cash.

Fourteen-year-old Logan Mishoe and 13-year-old Austin Nichols from Allegan County, Michigan in the United States, recently returned a wallet they found in a park that contained US$364. After opening the wallet to look for identification information, they could not find an address, so they turned it in to the local police department, who was able to return it to the owner. Wayland Police Chief Mark Garnsey was so proud of the integrity of the two young men that he named them Wayland Police Citizens of the Day. Heaven’s blessings, Logan Mishoe and Austin Nichols, for your honest actions to ensure that the wallet was returned to its rightful owner, and our gratitude, Police Chief Mark Garnsey, for honoring their goodness. May the moral uprightness of the planet’s citizens continue to prevail evermore, in God’s guidance.

Coming up, veg food company in Nigeria poised for expansion. Let’s take a moment to remember how precious the limited time is that we are given each day in our lives. We’ll be right back with more exceptional news here on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Resplendent News for a Radiant World.

Nigerian company expands plant-based options in Africa.

VeggieVictory, founded by Bola Adeyanju and Hakeem Jimo in 2013, is Nigeria’s first vegan meat company. In addition to a restaurant, the Lagos-based enterprise produces plant-based protein items such as vegan hot dogs, tofu scrambles, as well as vegan versions of Nigerian dishes including efo riro stews. Their products are sold in more than 12 states and are now expanding their reach to other African countries. The move comes after investments by vegan pet food brand Wild Earth CEO, Ryan Bethencourt of the United States, and Anant Joshi, founder of United Kingdom-based PLANT CEO, a YouTube channel for vegan businesses. Mr. Joshi commented that Africa’s increasing population brings “huge demand for protein which is healthy, sustainable and plant-based.” Congratulations, Bola Adeyanju, Hakeem Jimo, VeggieVictory, and investors on your auspicious plans! May your delicious vegan products spread compassion and love as they also satisfy appetites, in Celestial brilliance.

Kind-hearted man has rescued thousands of animals in India.

Vikas Luthra, entrepreneur and founder of nonprofit Furever Friends Foundation (FFF), has saved approximately 20,000 animals since 2012, including dogs, cats, monkeys, birds and reptiles. With the help of volunteers, FFF rescues and rehabilitates stray animals in India. Mr. Luthra has already developed a foster care network of 150 members tending to distressed animals, and is now using his veterinary assisting experience to train others in animal rescue. The organization has plans to start an ambulance service with surgery and life support facilities for animals. Despite being visually-impaired and working through a serious kidney condition, Mr. Luthra continues to work selflessly to “make this life worth living for the extraordinary beings – animals.” You are a true hero, Vikas Luthra. Our prayers are with you, Furever Friends Foundation and all involved. In Heaven’s all-embracing care, may we each in our own capacities be good to our beloved animal friends. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Thankfully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Vikas Luthra with a humble contribution of US$10,000 to further your benevolent efforts. May Heavens forever shield you and those assisting your compassionate work.”

How about a joke of the day to relax with for a while? It’s called “Definition by Heart.”

“Jeremy, could you remind us of the definition of energy, for all to hear, please?”

“Uhh... I don’t remember the complete definition but I remember the last few words.”

“OK, say the last few words then.”

“... and this is called energy.”

?!
