Dr. Mark Cohen is an American scholar specializing in Jewish history during the Middle Ages under Islam. In his book “Under Crescent and Cross,” he presents the historiographical viewpoint that Jews lived more securely in the medieval Arab-Islamic world than in other regions. During this time in Spain, Jews, Muslims, and Christians coexisted peacefully and prospered together in all aspects of the economy. Morocco has a long history of Jewish-Muslim coexistence. During His leadership, King Mohammed V ensured that no Moroccan Jew was sent to the death camps. In 1978, the then-Egyptian President His Excellency Anwar Sadat; Israeli Prime Minister, His Excellency Menachem Begin; and United States President, His Excellency Jimmy Carter participated in the Camp David Accords, which led to the signing of the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty on March 26, 1979.

On September 15, 2020, Israel signed agreements with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain to normalize their relations. The agreements were named the “Abraham Accords” to emphasize the common belief in the Prophet Abraham (vegetarian) in both Judaism and Islam. The signing ceremony, hosted by His Excellency Donald Trump, also a Shining World Peace Leader Award laureate and Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate, took place at the American White House.

We share an excerpt of a phone call on May 18, 2021, in which our Most Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) caringly spoke of the importance of peace between the Palestinian and Israeli people. “Many countries make peace with Israel. I’m very happy about that and it’s very good. It’s just that something else has to be taken care of: the peace between Palestinians and the Jewish people. For God’s sake! For God’s sake, for the love of God, please stop killing each other! Oh! For God’s sake, for the love of God, please stop all this bloodshed. Think about the children as if they are your children, and you’ll know what they feel.”
