Mr. Donev is the founding president of the Bulgarian Vegan Union and a committed animal-people activist. His approach to going vegan was well thought through to ensure that his new compassionate lifestyle choice would be lifelong. Once he was entirely vegan, Mr. Donev set his sights on creating Bulgaria’s first officially registered vegan organization. The union also gave its first press conference in 2017.

Mr. Donev is completely honest with the public about the magnitude of suffering that animal-people face due to humans stealing their lives and wellbeing for meat and animal-people by-products. "A silent genocide. Billions of animals are killed, industrial fishing, mammal farms, etc. This can and must be changed. It depends on us. The more actively, the more intensively we struggle to inform the public, the quicker this process will be. Because people have heads on their shoulders, they can tell good from bad, they can tell right from wrong, they have a conscience. It's just that someone has to inform them, put this problem on their agenda, make them think about it."

"Definitely, the future is vegan. There are many things that show it clearly. From an environmental point of view, organizations like the United Nations with their reports call on the people to give up the consumption of certain animal products. The President of China, as far as I remember, a few years ago called on people to reduce meat consumption. The world is going in that direction, because if we continue like this, to exist in this way as humanity, we will destroy ourselves. Simply because these livestock farms pollute the environment, pollute nature. If we don't take actions now, it will be too late in the future. There are also many companies that produce ready-made plant-based foods, substitutes for traditional animal products. We are moving in this direction and the future is vegan!"
