Sharing Songs in Quarantine, Part 1 of 2 - Worshipping Together

In our present time, where the challenge of COVID-19 has forced many churches, synagogues, temples, and mosques to close temporarily, people of faith have nonetheless still found ways to worship and sing together as a group – virtually! In today’s show, we will hear three beautiful songs of worship performed by various groups during the recent precautionary lockdowns. First of all, let us listen to “The Service Song” as shared by members of the Bukas Palad Music Ministry. The preface of the song, which in turn ennobles the listener and prepares for the heart-opening glories to come: “The call to serve during this worldwide pandemic is louder and stronger than ever. As Mary and the apostles received the Holy Spirit during Pentecost, we too pray for the grace to be of service to those who need us most as we sing…”

Our next song is a popular hymn “I’ll Fly Away” written by Albert E. Brumley and performed by members of Schola Diffusa from their own homes. Schola Diffusa means “Dispersed Choir” in Latin.

The third and final group piece that we have the honor of sharing today is called “The Breath of Life” written by Justin Witwick and performed by the chamber ensemble Laude of First Congregational Church of Los Angeles.

When God breathes the breath of new life into us, our souls can be truly liberated and remember the Freedom of our True Life. The current time of challenge also provides opportunities to turn inward, reflect, and seek to connect with God’s divine power for salvation. Supreme Master Ching Hai elaborated on this in a conference with Supreme Master Television team members in October 2020. “I’m sure at this time of the world’s trouble and at their time of death, they would be praying and repenting. And this is also good. So it’s easier for me to help them. (Yes, Master. Thank You, Master.) Yes, to help their souls. It’s more important. We die sooner or later, but if your soul is liberated, that is the best thing. So the pandemic somehow wakes many people up.”
