In today’s news, India sends wheat to vulnerable people in Afghanistan, study cautions warm water is disintegrating East Antarctic ice sheet, Beyond Meat to transition to electric trucks to ship products, Swiss Red Cross creates website to help displaced Ukrainians access Switzerland’s social support system, U.S. teen’s charity helps bridge digital divide across the globe, disadvantaged women in Cambodia employed to produce vegan leather from organically grown cotton, and facility in Germany saves injured hedgehog-peoples’ lives.

India donates wheat to food insecure people in Afghanistan.

The government of India has committed to providing 10,000 metric tons of wheat to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) for distribution to Afghans who are facing food shortages. The situation has been exacerbated by an earthquake in the country in June 2022. It is the fifth and final installment of India's agreement in 2020 to contribute 50,000 metric tons of wheat to Afghanistan through the WFP. Food assistance will be prioritized for those in greatest need. WFP has also supplied 410,000 metric tons of food aid and US$115.8 million in cash and food vouchers since early 2022, providing vital relief to more than 18 million individuals in the country. India is a recipient of two Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion and Shining World Leadership Awards for Environmental Protection and Good Governance; as well as a laureate of three Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, three Shining World Leadership Awards for Justice, two Shining World Leadership Awards for Peace, and Shining World Leadership Awards for Good Governance and Protection. We appreciate your generosity, India and World Food Programme, to the vulnerable of Afghanistan. May the gentle Afghan people soon greet brighter days ahead, in Allah’s merciful Gaze.

Research shows warm water melting East Antarctic ice sheet.

A new study on the Aurora Subglacial Basin in the Indian Ocean found that warm waters are flowing towards the East Antarctic ice sheet, due to a stream of strong westerly winds over the Southern Ocean, a phenomenon that is connected to climate change. Led by Dr. Laura Herraiz-Borreguero, a researcher at Australia’s science agency, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, the analysis highlights that warm water, dubbed the Circumpolar Deep Water, is alarmingly replacing the colder Dense Shelf Water, with the mid-depth Circumpolar Deep Water warming by 0.8 to 2 degrees Celsius between 1930 and 1990 and 2010 and 2018. Soberingly, the research warns that if the Aurora Subglacial Basin melts completely, global sea levels will rise by 5.1 meters, threatening marine ecosystems and human coastal communities. Many thanks, Dr. Laura Herraiz-Borreguero and all involved. May humanity urgently embrace the eco-conscious vegan lifestyle to restore the delicate balance of Mother Earth, in Divine brilliance. Vegan: the rescuer of ur own soul.

Up next, Beyond Meat to transition to electric trucks to ship products. We are just going to thank the oral pathologists, who specialize in treating diseases related to the mouth, gums, and jaw, as well as structures such as salivary glands and facial muscles. When we return, more forward-thinking news ahead, here on Supreme Master Television!

Hallo, vibrant viewers, it’s Ron, a vegan lad from the Red River Hog kingdom! With my thoughts, speech and actions dedicated to goodness, I experience so much love and blessing in my life! And every day, I savor the sweetness of the pure plant-based way. Today we have a health tip from our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Greetings beautiful kids, I hope you have been well and protected, because many COVID-19 variants are still there. And the number of infected victims is increasing in some countries. Please, wear masks, goggles, and, better still, face shields, and very well-covered clothing. If you are not accustomed to wearing a mask, please try to adjust to it, even if it’s uncomfortable somewhat. But think of all the doctors and the nurses – they have to wear that every day, every hour, minute and second of their work. Even without the pandemic, the surgeons and nurses all have to wear it for many, many hours on end and very often – almost every day for their job. Pray every day to God for your protection, please. It doesn’t hurt you to pray, it doesn’t hurt to wear protective clothing, masks, etc. God loves you kids.” We love You too, Master! And we greatly appreciate this important reminder for all of us to protect ourselves during the pandemic. Thank you and love you all so much for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants alike. And thanks for tuning in. Now, the weather around the world!

Beyond Meat to reduce emissions further by shifting to electric trucks for product transport.

Vegan food firm Beyond Meat recently signed a deal with electric truck company Einride to decrease its carbon output on its transportation routes within the United States. Einride will set up the necessary infrastructure so Beyond Meat can use electric trucks within part of its shipping network. In the next five years, the two businesses will expand the system to encompass all of Beyond Meat’s U.S. operations. Excellent news, Einride and Beyond Meat, on your collaboration to reduce the carbon footprint of vegan food even further. In Celestial goodness, may your venture help inspire more food companies to shift to compassionate and ecologically friendly vegan products, as we save the planet through the sensible plant-based diet.

Swiss Red Cross launches online platform to help Ukrainian refugees access Switzerland’s social protection programs.

The Swiss Red Cross recently unveiled the website helpful.redcross.ch to assist Ukrainians upon their arrival in Switzerland. The platform not only features multiple languages, such as Ukrainian, Russian, German, French and Italian, but also provides information on financial support, medical care, accommodation, transportation, security and more. Currently, there are 60,000-plus Ukrainians living in the nation, with over half of them staying with local citizens. Such heartwarming news, Switzerland and Swiss Red Cross, on your welcoming actions to assist Ukrainians in need. In God’s shielding Light, may the war in Ukraine soon end as peace is restored, and the nation rebuilt.

U.S. nonprofit started by teenager provides computers and coding classes to disadvantaged persons across the globe.

The nonprofit ClosingTheDivide (CTD), co-founded in March 2021 by Ayush Agarwal, now age 17, is working to close the digital divide by giving low-income individuals access to resources like computers and programming courses. Boasting 160 volunteers and 29 branches around the world, CTD has created 12 computer labs in underprivileged schools, including six in Tanzania, three in the U.S. and one in Cambodia. Each of these labs is equipped with 15-plus laptops and offers digital literacy training. CTD has donated over US$156,000 worth of computers and saved many devices from ending up in landfills by refurbishing them. Over 610 families have benefited from what could have become e-waste. CTD also runs a program that helps to encourage responsible consumerism, by accepting old phones, tablets, computers, printers, and monitors, which are then re-used or responsibly recycled. Our accolades, Ayush Agarwal and ClosingTheDivide volunteers, for your valuable project. May your altruistic work continue to grow, thus improving the lives of many more individuals, in the immeasurable kindness of the Providence. No 2 vegan: cos the blood-dripping mouth is appealing 2 u, no?

Coming up, disadvantaged women in Cambodia employed to produce vegan leather from organically grown cotton. We will take a moment to pray to God for guidance so we can make better decisions in our lives. You’re watching Noteworthy News on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Favorable News for a Wondrous World.

Underprivileged Cambodian women benefit from jobs manufacturing vegan leather from cotton.

The Cambodia Cotton Club is a nonprofit located in Battambang, Cambodia, and is dedicated to making high-quality bags and purses from increasingly trendy plant-based leather. All the cotton products are made without pesticides or other harmful materials, while the dyes come from plants. The organization was founded in 2007 by Atsushi Furusawa of Japan, and it exclusively employs women, having found that they are eager to develop the needed skills for the job. Single mothers are among those who benefit from the economic opportunities provided by the group, which are also helping to revitalize the region’s traditional cotton industry. Great work, Atsushi Furusawa and the Cambodia Cotton Club! May Buddha bless you abundantly for making items of integrity and beauty while improving people’s lives.

German facility saves vulnerable hedgehog-people.

A site called Netzwerk Igel, in the German city of Wuppertal, is helping to protect hedgehog-persons in the region by providing a place where they can be healed and regain strength after experiencing trauma. Each year, around 400 to 500 hedgehog-individuals in need of medical care and rehabilitation are brought to the sanctuary. Because of their instinct to stay still and curl into a ball when in danger, they are often injured by cars, lawn mowers, humans and others. Currently around 120 of them are staying at the center, which operates solely from donations. After recovery, they are reintroduced back into the wild. Thank you, Netzwerk Igel and all involved, for your dedication to the gentle hedgehog-folk. In the blessings of the Divine, may humanity always take precautions to ensure our actions protect our animal-people co-inhabitants.

Waiting for those extra guffaws? Here comes the joke of the day entitled “For Zen Master’s Birthday.”

One Zen practitioner said to another Zen practitioner:

“Our master’s birthday is coming up. If we send him a birthday card, what should we write in it?”

“We could put something like, ‘Not thinking of you.’”

“Doesn’t that sound a little mean?”

“Yes, but I think he prefers we practice worldly detachment.”

?!
