In Shining World Compassion Award News from the United Kingdom…

After working full time on a campaign against the 1995 live sheep-people trade in Perth, Australia, Professor Andrew Knight was inspired to become a veterinarian. He has since founded the Centre of Animal Welfare at the University of Winchester in the UK. The Master of Science program in Animal Ethics and Law now attracts students from around the world, including via distance learning. Many then become professional animal-people advocates. Professor Knight has been involved in publishing approximately 150 academic as well as 80 popular publications, and has been creating informative YouTube videos on a variety of topics outlining the harms of animal-people livestock production.

“One of my interests has been vegan companion animal diets for cats and dogs, the extent to which it is or isn’t possible for these animals to be healthy on these sorts of diets compared to meat-based diets. And I look at the claims about naturalness of commercial meat-based diets that are fed to cats and dogs today and vegan diets as well, and provide advice to people about nutritional aspects.”

Our Benevolent Supreme Master Ching Hai gratefully presented the Shining World Compassion Award to Professor Andrew Knight, “plus US$10,000 as a humble token of helping the research, with all love and high salute for your precious work.”

Professor Knight graciously received the Award letter, crystalline plaque as well as Master’s financial gift and Her publications. Our Association members from Surrey, United Kingdom, were pleased to present these on behalf of Master.

“Shining World Compassion Award from Supreme Master Ching Hai for Professor Andrew Knight in recognition of courageous advocacy of pro-life, no sacrifice surgical training, nurturing alternative plant-based lifestyle and education, personifying a powerful voice for innocent animals. With compliments and gratitude for your compassionate and enlightened stance, promoting a humane curriculum, saving precious lives.”

“Thank You very much indeed. It’s a great honor and it’s a beautiful award. Thank You very much indeed. I’ll certainly treasure this.”

“Professor Knight, on behalf of Supreme Master Ching Hai, we would like to present this check of US$10,000 to support you with your wonderful work for animal advocacy. Thank you.”

“Thank You very much indeed. That’s really amazing and wonderful. I’ve been doing this kind of work for around about 30 years now. People doing this kind of work usually fund all of it themselves, and it’s very rare that we receive support from anybody, so I have lots of ongoing expenses. I want to make people around the world aware of animals and how important it is to protect them and their welfare. I produce videos, websites, conference presentations, research and publications, and all of that, unfortunately, does cost money… Supreme Master, thank You very much indeed, for taking an interest in the work that I do. It’s unusual that people a long way away reach out to express that support, and it really means an awful lot. Most of the time, it’s a hard slog against a lot of opposition. It’s very unusual when this kind of thing happens and it really means a lot. Thank You very much indeed. And thank You for all You do to try to make the world a more compassionate, caring place for animals and for people.”

We are overjoyed that Professor Andrew Knight has received this award. May your bold actions and ethical ideals continue to inspire generations of students, professionals and the public. May all the world soon be vegan, with love towards the people of the animal kingdom as the norm, in God’s bountiful Mercy.

For the full presentation of the Shining World Compassion Award to Professor Andrew Knight, please tune in to our Shining World Awards program at a later date.

Study finds showing footage of animal-people livestock factories causes people to eat less meat.

A recent joint research of studies that show the effectiveness of discussing or depicting animal welfare was conducted by scientists from the Stanford University School of Medicine, University of California at San Francisco, Northwestern University, and Harvard University, all in the United States. They concluded that around 83% of the participants reduced their meat consumption when presented with documentaries, virtual reality experiences, articles and graphic footage illustrating the horrors experienced by animal kingdom people within the meat industry. Co-author of the study and director of the nonprofit The Humane League Labs, Jacob Peacock, said that using these methods provides “promising potential to effect widespread diet and lifestyle change.” Empowering news, university researchers, demonstrating the need to show people the abysmal realities of our animal-people friends who are killed every day for food. In Heaven’s grace, may everyone soon discover their compassionate self by making the wise vegan choice. “If you want to end all bad karma, you must end the killing.” ~ Teachings of the Saints (Cao Đài-ism)

Up next, Shanghai researchers create smart windows that convert heat into electricity. We’ll just thank the tennis coaches all around the world, who patiently teach students of all ages to develop their skills and enjoy the social nature of the game. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more rewarding news.

Hallo, virtuous friends, it’s Melissa, a vegan princess from the Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo kingdom! Have you ever wondered how to reach inner contentment and peace? Well, your first step is the harmonious plant-based diet. Now you know my secret. Did you know that back issues can develop as a result of your posture or the way you sit? Therefore, keep in mind these preventive tips. When sitting, position your back so that it is resting against the chair. If there are areas in which the back does not comfortably reach the chair, use a cushion or backrest. Rest your feet flat on the floor or on a footrest. Try not to cross your knees or ankles, and leave a small space between the chair and the back of your knees. Have the knees positioned at the same level as your hips or slightly lower, and your ankles placed in front of the knees. Also, for every hour of sitting, take a rest for at least 10 minutes. Your back will thank you! Thank you for watching. Lots of love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Now the weather from around the world.

Smart windows increase energy efficiency in buildings.

Researchers from the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences recently introduced a novel energy-efficient window that collects heat and converts it into electricity. The window contains a wavelength-selective film that absorbs ultraviolet and infrared light, then converts it into heat. Thermoelectric devices installed at the sides of the window then convert the heat into usable electricity. It is estimated that around 50% of the energy use in buildings is lost through countering window heat exchange, so the technology can significantly reduce cooling costs in summer. The new design still allows 88% of visible light to pass through, thereby keeping the building’s interiors naturally lit. Thank you, researchers at the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, for making this smart window for better building energy management. May our cities quickly evolve to be sustainable vegan paradises, in the watchful guidance of the Providence.

Dangerous pesticide banned in the United States.

After many decades of widespread use, the agricultural pesticide called chlorpyrifos has finally been banned by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The chemical, commonly sprayed on a range of crops such as apples, strawberries, corn, grapes, and cotton, has been linked to working memory loss, intellectual impairment, reduced IQ in children, damage to unborn children’s brains, harm to farm workers, etc. In response to legal challenges made against the EPA by non-profit Earthjustice and others, the court ordered the agency to prove the safety of the compound, which it was unable to do, resulting in its eventual ban. The chemical is also prohibited within the European Union. We commend you, courageous Earthjustice and all involved, on your success at removing a toxic chemical from the United States food supply. In God’s Love, may all farmers soon make the wise shift to organic plant-based agriculture for the health and vitality of all.

Tanzanian novelist Dr. Abdulrazak Gurnah wins 2021 Nobel Prize for Literature.

Dr. Gurnah was born in Zanzibar and arrived in the United Kingdom as a refugee during the late 1960s. The now 72-year-young retired professor has authored ten novels and numerous short stories. Most of his writings are on the hardships and life disruptions faced by refugees, with a focus on identity and self-image. In issuing the award, the Swedish Academy stated that the prestigious literary accolade honors Dr. Gurnah “for his uncompromising and compassionate penetration of the effects of colonialism and the fate of the refugee in the gulf between cultures and continents.” Congratulations, Dr. Abdulrazak Gurnah. In Celestial creativity, may your empathetic writing enthrall many readers while helping to raise awareness about refugees, including the challenges they encounter and the abundant gifts they bring. Traveling couple take in abandoned dog-person in Spain.

While traveling through the Spanish countryside in Granada province, Martina Russo and her partner Fil noticed a small dog-person chasing after their car. Upon realizing that the canine-person was determined to follow them, the couple pulled over and opened the door. The grateful dog-person, later named Moxie, jumped right into their arms. After Martina and Fil gave her food and water, they then tried to locate her caregivers in the nearby villages, as well as online, without success. Later, they brought Moxie, whose fur and eyes showed signs of neglect, to the vet and was told she did not have a microchip. Now, Moxie and the new family she chose, including feline-people siblings, go on adventures together throughout Europe. What joyful news! Cheers, Martina and Fil, for kindly opening your hearts to adorable Moxie. In Heavenly love, may you and all the bighearted individuals who adopt or foster homeless animal kingdom people be blessed.

Now, it’s time to open the bag of laughter with the joke of the day, entitled, “Don’t Spoil the Surprise.”

A young girl said to her father:

“Dad, promise you won’t tell Mom that I got her cookies for her birthday?”

“Oh, that’s so sweet of you! Is it because you want to surprise your mother?”

“No, Dad, it’s because I already ate them all.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Mehr in Iran:

Precious, Exalted Master, Greetings to You and the diligent Supreme Master TV team. I am Iranian, and I have been familiar with the issue of Palestine and Gaza since I was a child. This issue is completely political in Iran. But my heart has always been in pain for the suffering people of Gaza, regardless of all the external issues. When Your message regarding a recent incident was broadcasted, I cried with You for the suffering of the war-torn people and the helpless children of Gaza. Just hours after Your message imbued with Your Blessings was broadcasted, the news of the ceasefire arrived. I thanked God Almighty for this news. Dear Master, my feelings of gratitude and appreciation for Your generosity and sacrifice cannot be expressed in words. May Master be safe and in good health. May the righteous people win. May Tim Qo Tu’s Love be victorious, and may all the particles of the Universe be surrounded by this Love. Amen. With love, Mehr from Iran

Blissful Mehr, We are extremely happy also to have witnessed this amazing event and thankful to the Highest Heavens for such miraculous news! May humanity stop warring against one another to let Peace prevail across all nations and Love fill all hearts.

Master has some words of comfort for you: “Beloved Mehr, my heart also aches, seeing innocent lives having to suffer in agony as a result of war and destruction. Inevitably people have to wake up and realize that killing is never right, no matter what justifies their belief. I pray that the day will soon come when all beings can coexist harmoniously, in Love and respect. May you and the devoted Iranians be blessed, in Allah’s boundless Grace.”
