In the public’s eye, Princess Diana was a symbol of love, compassion, and charity. As a result of Princess Diana’s endeavors, the Mine Ban Treaty, or Ottawa Treaty, was finally ratified on December 3, 1997, which forbids the use of landmines, and was supported by 122 member governments. The International Campaign to Ban Landmines won the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize, a few months after Princess Diana’s passing.

Prince William and Prince Harry continued in their mother’s footsteps by supporting the causes she believed in: homelessness, HIV/AIDs awareness, and helping children and young people. To this end, and to continue Princess Diana’s legacy, over 47,000 Diana Awards have been given to youngsters who display compassion and hold these same beliefs as Princess Diana. “If we all played our part in making our children feel valued, the result will be tremendous.”

In 2006, our Most Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) also mentioned the bright beauty of Her Royal Highness Princess Diana. “You know, the day Princess Diana died, we felt like the world was darkened. Because she was so much light, and so beautiful!”

In 1999, TIME ranked Princess Diana as one of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century. In 2018, Princess Diana ranked 15th on BBC History’s poll of 100 Women Who Changed the World.

Interestingly, an article written for Stellar Magazine in 2019 revealed that a young boy in Australia somehow knew private things about Princess Diana, despite the fact that the boy’s parents never spoke to their son about Her Royal Highness. As his parents recall, their son seems to have a supernatural connection.

Whether in acts of charity, or in pop culture, Her Royal Highness Princess Diana left a lasting impression of elegance, style, compassion, and warmth as the People’s Princess. “I think the British people need someone in public life to give affection, to make them feel important, to support them, to give them light in their dark tunnels.”
