“You must have it in mind that which you are demanding for yourself must reach others as well. Compassion and spirituality are so very intimate. And in today’s time, veganism is the strongest name for compassion. You cannot be spiritual and violent at the same time. You cannot be spiritual and a flesh-eater at the same time.”Acharya Prashant is a respected spiritual figure, who possesses a wealth

“Taqwa is one of these core principles of Islam, and that is mentioned a lot in the Qur’an as well, in different forms. We can translate Taqwa as God consciousness. This is done by more modern Islamic scholars. And God consciousness is key in Islam. If we want to live our life according to the ethics and the principles, and also the laws.”“So, in terms of veganism, that would mean that I want to a

“If we think of compassion and justice as the two pillars of Islamic moral philosophy and spiritual practice, then a vegan lifestyle is the best way in my honest opinion that we can apply these values and how we can live them in our day-to-day life. The way we sustain ourselves is really important for our own spiritual and physical health. If we’re eating cruelty, if we are eating disease, if we a

“Rashi, lived a thousand years ago in France. His commentary on the Torah, and the Talmud is like the main commentary. And in a few different places, he writes that: ‘We don't need meat to live.’ When the Israelites complained to God for meat in the desert, when they had the Manna, that was a horrible sin, and they didn't need to ask for meat because they had the miraculous Manna, which came from

“I believe that there is an urgent need for change in the Jewish community and in the world. I really see veganism as one of the most important issues of our time, because what we eat and how we eat and the food choices that we make are impacting almost every single level realm, sector of life, of the planet, of reality. And that’s why I focus on it so much because I feel like if we could really p

“We certainly look very strongly to the teachings of Jesus about what He said and particularly what He didn’t say, and particularly the way He imagines His life and His offering of His life. He doesn’t come back in the sense to wage war against the religious or political authorities. He comes back, Christians believe, from the dead and cooks a meal with His friends. He doesn’t come back seeking a

“I think if people were aware of the suffering in meat production, the majority would not eat meat. They deliberately do not want to know. When you tell them, they say, “Don't tell me, I don't want to know.” I think that is being duplicitous, hypocritical, to think that I want to enjoy myself because I don't want to know what suffering I cause. It's totally irresponsible. You should try to know wh
