Selections from “Pistis Sophia” – Chapters 39 & 40, Part 1 of 2

“Pistis Sophia,” meaning “Faith-Wisdom,” or “Faith in the Light,” is a Gnostic scripture of teachings given by Lord Jesus Christ in the 11 years following His resurrection. On today’s show, we learn of Pistis Sophia’s repentance to Lord Jesus Christ where she seeks forgiveness and salvation from the chaos and darkness that oppresses her.

Chapter 39

“’All this has befallen me, O Light, by Thy commandment and Thy command, and it is Thy commandment that I am here. Thy commandment has brought me down, and I am descended as a power of the chaos, and my power is numbed in me. But Thou, O Lord, are Light eternal, and do visit them who are forever oppressed. Now, therefore, O Light, arise and seek my power and the soul in me. Thy commandment is accomplished, which Thou did decree for me in my afflictions. […]’”

“’For the Lord will seek the power of your soul. He has revealed His mystery, So that He may regard the repentance of them who are in the regions below; and He has not disregarded their repentance. […] For the Light has looked down from the height of its light. It will look down on the total matter, to hear the sighing of those in chains, to lose the power of the souls whose power is bound, so that it may lay its name in the soul and its mystery in the power.’”
