In Hinduism, the world moves in a recurring cycle of four yugas (ages): Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga. Satya Yuga, also called Krita Yuga, is the Age of Truth and is also referred to as the Golden Age. Supreme Master Ching Hai recently expounded on our past history: "In the beginning, we came here from the Brahman Heavens (Third Level Heaven)... And then we began to taste this and that... The immune system - used to be more refined, more holy, more wholesome - became weaker and weaker with each generation, with each day that passed, because we ate too many different things and animals and stuff. And the more and more karma all the time." We can find confirmation of what Supreme Master Ching Hai said in the Mahabharata, the famous Hindu epic also recorded by Maharshi Veda Vyasa. "...And when men become fierce and destitute of virtue and CARNIVOROUS AND ADDICTED TO INTOXICATING DRINKS, then doth the [Kali] Yuga (Dark Age) come to an end." The Hindu scriptures do hold great assurance that the Golden Age will happen. As Section 178 of the Mahabharata's Vana Parva concludes "And when those terrible times will be over, the creation will begin anew... And all around, there will be prosperity and abundance and health and peace. And commissioned by Time, a Brahmana of the name of Kalki will take His birth..." And the Bhagavata Purana states: "At that time (when Kali Yuga ends), the Supreme Personality of Godhead will appear on the earth..." As our series continues, we'll find out about the powerful Divine Being who is prophesied to come to establish the new Satya Yuga.
