He worked hard. But he has never enough clothes to wear or enough food to eat. “One time, he asked one of the people he knew around him, ‘Do you know what kind of good deeds we could do in this world, so that we can have richness in this lifetime?’” “And then, after asking so many people, some people didn’t know, and this one knew, one person knew.” All right. “So this person, he knew, he told this poor Brahmin thus, ‘You don’t know? Now the Buddha is in the world. And He is making benefit, He’s giving benefit to everybody, because of His presence and His blessing. Not only that, He has four great disciples, monks. All they do is just bless a lot of people. Anyone who has sincerity and faith, and makes some offering to these four saintly disciples of the Buddha, then in this lifetime, whatever you want, your wish will be fulfilled.’”
