In today’s news, United States assists Kenya in increasing food security, Chinese research reveals complete extinction event approaching, report suggests prioritizing plant-based food could help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development assists with improving water system in Uzbekistan, benevolent Dutch siblings raise €2,000 for Turkish earthquake victims, new cauliflower-based ice cream trending in New Zealand, and canine hero in Michigan, USA, protects baby from burning house.

Study from China finds ecosystem collapse unavoidable if changes are not made. International researchers investigating marine fossils from an event called the Great Dying, which took place 252 million years ago, have discovered that ecosystems can lose species while still functioning. Then, a total collapse can follow quickly after a certain tipping point, which occurs when the final species in each role in the ecosystem become extinct. After this event, there was no way to recover, and currently, we are losing animal- and fish-people as well as insects quicker than any of the five previous mass extinctions. Such alarming news, international scientists, on the potential future that awaits us if we do not change. In the compassion of the Providence, may humanity wake up and ensure nature can regrow, recover, and be protected, so we can thrive in a vibrant and peaceful world.

I would like to share driving tips on how to keep yourself safe during winter weather. You may experience understeer, which is when your front wheels slide as a result of turning your steering wheel. Do not panic if your car loses traction. In this scenario, take your foot off the accelerator and gently turn the steering wheel until it's straight and grip is achieved again. You should not be turning your steering wheel abruptly or slamming on your brakes. If you are coming up on a turn, slow down and break before you begin to turn your steering wheel. If your vehicle's rear is skidding to the right, steer to the right. Keep your hands always on the steering wheel and your eyes on the road.

Study says switch to plant-based food could support reducing global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. A new report by sustainability consultancy group Systemiq and partners, including the University of Exeter, UK, and the Bezos Earth Fund, identifies vegan food as a crucial positive tipping point in transforming the worldwide food system to drastically lessen its GHG releases. Titled “The Breakthrough Effect,” the study recommends, among two other “super-leverage points,” prioritizing the purchase of plant-based proteins in procurement policies for public institutions such as schools, hospitals, and government offices. This would quickly drive-up demand and support producers in reaching economies of scale to reduce costs and accelerate the adoption of plant-based eating. Great work, Systemiq and all partners involved. May a planet-saving vegan diet urgently become the new global norm, in Divine guidance.

Our hilarity detector has just revealed the following joke, so let’s take a look. It’s entitled, “Full-Time Job.”

Two recent college graduates were talking about their lives…

“What have you been doing since our graduation?”

“I finally got my first full-time job. I really like it, but it honestly feels like I was making more money in college, working for my parents as their daughter.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Tzu-Yueh in Taiwan, also known as Formosa
