In the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association News from Egypt…
The following is a report from our Association members who are helping to spread the vegan message at the United Nations climate change conference, COP 27, held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, from November 5-18:
“Knowing of the warnings we have received from Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) about the urgent predicament of our planet, we felt strongly motivated to be present at this international meeting to promote veganism as the only solution for the climate crisis. Fellow Association members came together from many countries, including the USA, United Kingdom, Âu Lạc (Vietnam), Taiwan (Formosa), Singapore, Germany, Korea, Hungary, and the Netherlands.
When the COP 27 event officially opened on the morning of November 5, our Association members were there to greet attendees as they arrived. Our colorful banner messages and animal costumes attracted attention. Soon we heard of media reports that featured our vegan activism, and we were also asked for comments by several national TV channels.
During the following days of the COP 27 conference, we continued displaying ‘Be Veg’ banners and speaking to people about the vegan solution. Each day of the conference, we also gave out hundreds of free vegan sandwiches, cookies, and muffins. Both local and international media coverage featured the vegan activism of our group along with the message of saving the planet by becoming vegan.
Our team is deeply grateful for this opportunity to convey our Beloved Master’s vegan message. We pray that the courageous governments seize this opportunity to implement the vegan diet solution and thus save the planet.”
