Here is a health tip regarding bread. Many commercially bulk-made and highly processed breads can negatively affect gut health, leading to digestive issues and bloating. Such ingredients as refined flours, added sugars, and artificial additives like emulsifiers and dough conditioners can disrupt the gut bacteria, also known as the gut microbiome. Refining flour strips away fiber and nutrients, leaving just the starchy portion, which raises blood sugar levels and may cause bloating. Commercial breads often contain added sugars and preservatives, which can upset digestion. The sugar in sweetened bread can lead to an overgrowth of harmful gut bacteria and yeast overgrowth like candida. Healthier alternatives include whole grain bread, sourdough bread, rye bread, and thin wholemeal sandwich wraps. Sourdough’s yeast helps balance gut bacteria, and rye bread’s higher fiber content supports a healthier digestive system. Preferably these should be handmade in a traditional bakery, or at home by your own labor of love.

A fun energy booster is right in your reach as the joke of the day has just stepped in. It’s entitled “Nickname at Work.”

Ron was talking to Dominic about their jobs at lunchtime.

“My boss has a really good way of giving all his employees a nickname. My boss calls me The Computer.”

“So, your nickname is ‘The Computer,’ which sounds very intelligent.”

“Thanks, Dominic, but it’s got nothing to do with my intelligence. He calls me that because I go to sleep if left unattended for 15 minutes.”
