Tokyo, Japan welcomes a new Loving Hut vegan restaurant!

On July 29, 2023, Japan’s Loving Hut Nishi-Nippori opened in a residential area of Tokyo. Loving Hut is an international family of vegan restaurants, inspired by Supreme Master Ching Hai’s noble vision of offering healthy, delectable, and affordable vegan food for all. Our Association member and owner of the new Loving Hut expressed her appreciation to our Most Beloved Master for this energizing opportunity. “Thanks to Master’s Blessing, we could open the Loving Hut in Tokyo, Japan. We will try our best to increase the vegan population in Japan.”

Loving Hut Nishi-Nippori, Tokyo features a stylish atmosphere equipped with a counter for casual drop-in dining as well as a terrace enabling customers to enjoy a meal accompanied by an animal-person companion. The new restaurant offers a hearty and flavorful selection of cuisine pleasing to both local and international tastes. The menu includes vegan sushi, vegan eel bowls, vegan hamburgers, gluten-free rice flour sweets, and more. Most of these offerings are made free of onion, garlic, and other pungent roots, thus welcoming diners from a wide variety of backgrounds.

The genial customers were happy to chat about the mouth-watering vegan dishes and their experiences with veganism. One couple was from Austria. They have dined before at Loving Hut, Vienna, and came to visit the new restaurant while on vacation in Japan.

“It was really good, and the set was a big set of food and was very satisfying and delicious, especially the miso soup.”

“I think the main benefit of veganism is because of ethical reasons, and also the environmental reasons, so the vegan diet is the best diet for the environment.”

“I can’t eat animals and also other products of animals anymore. Because we don’t have to as humans, and there are so many other delicious options, so we don’t need it, and they should live their lives. And I really could encourage other people to try out vegan foods. And most of the people think we just eat salad, but there is so much more. Just try it out and on the internet, you can find so many good recipes, and also vegan restaurants like Loving Hut.”

“Also, the vegan community is very helpful, and they welcome everyone.”

Other customers also had positive experiences to share.

“It’s delicious! Thank you very much. About 7 years ago, yes, I happened to go to a vegan restaurant where the owner was an interesting person, and I decided to give it a try myself. Well, its benefit is of course health, but I think veganism has benefits that are hard to put into a word.”

“The meal was very delicious! I'm 79 years old now. When I was about 74, I became a vegan after reading a book. And I thought, ‘Oh, veganism must be good. I have to be vegan now.’ That’s when I decided I didn’t want to eat animals anymore. Its benefit is, first of all, that the condition of my stomach and intestines has become better. Previously, I had often suffered from constipation and gastrointestinal problems, but the vegan diet was very helpful.”

“Since I started to be vegan, my physical condition has just improved. I had a kidney and heart problem a little bit, but the pain has gone, so I have come to lead a comfortable life every day. After I became vegan, I thought I would be tired because of poor nutrition in ordinary circumstances, but that was not the case. My body feels so much lighter, and in fact, I feel like I’m getting better.”

“Be Vegan, Make Peace! Be Vegan, Make Peace! Be Vegan, Make Peace!”

Congratulations, Loving Hut Nishi-Nippori, Tokyo! Our deepest gratitude to Supreme Master Ching Hai for Her vision of global Loving Huts that are helping usher in a compassionate and peaceful world. Wishing this newest member of the Loving Hut family all the best. In Buddha’s mercy, may the diligent Japanese people quickly adopt the life-saving vegan lifestyle, leading the world by example in their kindness to all living beings.
