A recent study by the nonprofit Translational Genomics Research Institute in the United States, which conducts genetic research to find new diagnostic methods and disease treatments, has linked dementia to smoking and cardiovascular disease. Smoking was found to negatively affect memory and verbal learning ability more in women, while men suffered a decline in these areas more due to cardiovascular disease. To obtain the results, over 70,000 people between the ages of 18 and 85 were sampled.

The researchers noted that giving up smoking and sustaining the health of the cardiovascular system are important ways to protect against a deterioration in brain function.

Our appreciation, Translational Genomics Research Institute team, for your important study. In the goodwill of the Providence, we pray that all people will adopt a health-protecting, plant-based diet combined with an active and balanced lifestyle.
